...for people interested in military history, owners of original equipment, collectors, restorers, museums, research institutes, authors, publishers, film suppliers, paint manufacturers, model manufacturers, offices etc.
...on the basis of the current research/archive holdings
The following services can only be offered to a limited extent until completion of the extensive work on various publications.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Reproduction services
Reproduction services for authorised documents, regulations, color samples etc. of the archive stock in paper form (DIN A4, greyscale/color) or digital form (scan, min. 300 dpi, DIN A4, DIN A3, greyscale/color).
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Printing and embedding of historical material in publications and on websites
Authors, publishers, printers and website operators etc. can print and embed historical material (color samples, images, documents etc.) in publications, websites and online services.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Digitization/Archiving
You are in possession of color and paint historical or military documents, regulations, literature, pictures, color samples, color registers etc. and would like to digitise them in order to know that they are saved for the future or in the case they get lost?
You are in possession of documents, regulations, literature, pictures, color samples, color registers, etc. relating to the history of color and painting or of military documents, and have no use for them; but would you like to hand them over to expert and appreciative hands who would also make this information available for public research and conserve it permanently?
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Research and consulting services
You are interested in how historical or deleted standard and camouflage color tones (e.g. RAL 1003, 2006, 3001, 3006, 3008, 3010, 4000, 5005, 5006, 7004, 7007, 7014, 7017, 7018, 7019, 7020, 7025, 7027, 7028, 7028 Edition 1944, 7029, 8002, 8005, 8006, 8009, 8010, 8013, 8018, 8020, 8021, 9000, 9003, 9008, 35 h etc.) actually look like?
Are you in possession of vehicles, original equipment etc. and interested in authentic restoration with historically correct color tones?
Are you looking for historical backgrounds for colour tones and paints; regulations or areas of application for certain color tones?
This is possible on the theoretical basis of the primary sources available or, if necessary, by measuring the original color samples provided. Consulting services are available at the archive location or - on request - on your premises.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Written statements/individual assessments
Do you need a detailed written statement or an individual assessment with primary source documents on color and coating history; regulations or areas of application of a certain hue that are within the research context?
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Lecture
Are you interested in a lecture on the history of color and painting within the framework of an association, historical institution, exhibition or comparable event?
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Color measurement
You are in possession of historical color samples or parts, equipment, vehicles etc. which are still in the original paint and would like to know which color tones are involved?
In these cases, a color tone measurement (L*a*b*) can be considered, which can be carried out either by temporarily submitted samples/original parts etc. or, if desired, on site at your premises. By means of a comparison with the existing color database, even initially divergent color samples can be optimally assigned to the respective range of a historical, possibly already deleted color. Usable measurement results of submitted color samples can only be guaranteed if the size of at least 10 x 10 mm is maintained. Unfortunately, highly convex surfaces cannot be measured reliably.

Please submit a preliminary inquiry in text form with your request, which will enable us to check in advance whether it is possible to reply on the basis of the current archive holdings or to carry out services. If the preliminary check is positive, an individual offer will be made for you regarding the expected costs of the required services.
